Rachel Greenfield

Rachel Greenfield is an Independent Scholar, writing a biography of Mrs. Charles B. Knox – the President of Knox Gelatine from 1908-1947. Greenfield is dedicated to telling the story of the forgotten early twentieth-century businesswomen who paved a path for women who went into business in the late twentieth-century. Rose Knox is one of those seminal women. The practical and innovative way she approached business, and the way she publicized her simultaneous dedication to her home and work life, provides context for the experiences of working women today and affirmation of their expectations and hopes.

Greenfield graduated from Vassar College and received her MBA from Harvard Business School. Her career as a historian follows forty years as a publishing and digital business executive, which included positions as an e-book company entrepreneur, consultant, and the executive running the Publishing Division of Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia.
